Welcome to the Chamber

The Evanston Chamber of Commerce is the only non-profit business organization in the region solely supported by private industry. The Chamber provides leadership and services for its more than 650 member companies. Through the collective efforts of individual volunteers, The Chamber fosters a competitive business climate conducive to growth, prosperity and maintaining a high quality of life.

Downtown EvanstonThe Chamber membership represents the six sectors of the Evanston economy: manufacturing, services, retail, high-tech, health care and educational institutions, and the hospitality industry. The Chamber's policies and public positions are set by the board that meets monthly. A program of work and budget is created yearly by the board to guide the organization's efforts. Since most businesses in Evanston are small in size (fewer than 50 employees), that is where The Chamber focuses most of its resources.

While The Chamber works closely with many governmental bodies, it receives no regular public funding. Under a progressive membership investment structure, companies pay dues according to their size. For those companies taking advantage of The Chamber's advocacy, programs, services and marketing opportunities, the direct benefits often exceed their dues investment.

The Evanston Chamber Value Proposition

Businesses invest in the Chamber, and for that investment they receive:

  • Information: timely, accurate, and relevant
  • Access to influentials: meet, collaborate, and learn from key leadership in the Evanston community
  • Opportunities to make money/save money: bottom-line improvements through contacts, purchasing power
